The vmu animations are amazing, watch cupid get excited and you'll know, it just adds to the adventure since you look down to see if he acts up, and find chamsĦ. Pintas quest is pretty good, gets you tons of gold easy which can help in cases like the quest where you need to get money for ship upgrades and a base, plus the vmu mini games not bad!!!ģ. The sound is wayyyyyy better in terms of musicĢ. Why? Well let me give your a few reasons.ġ. In my mind, that's a really nice benefit as the bounty content sustains throughout the game rather than just being an option at the end.ĭreamcast version. That said, if you do want extra challenge, the bounty system really gives that to you, especially if you do the bounty fights as soon as they are available. This isn't like the challenge mode dungeons tacked on to the end of Final Fantasy 1 on the GBA this content is good. You gain a ton of content through the Paistol/moonfish sidequest AND that content actually really fleshes out the story. You don't lose out on any content due to the Dreamcast Network no longer being a thing (though, these are really minor). You still end up at the same level if you play the game normally.īut the benefits are clear. Some people note that it's easier due to increased XP, but that increase was only added due to the decreased encounter rate. Playing something on that tiny VMU never really appealed to me and I thought of it as somewhat immersion-breaking.įor those reasons, the Gamecube version is the clear winner to me. I played the original Dreamcast version and never even bothered with Pinta's Quest. I'm not disputing that there's a quality difference because everyone seems to agree on that point, its just not perceptible to me even when I watch the Youtube videos that specifically compare the sound back-to-back. I'm whatever the opposite of an audiophile would be (tone deaf?), so I can't tell the difference. No more rage when going through the South Ocean! + All DC's DLC content are available in this version. Those title that has requirements to reach, also served as Achievement of sort. (FYI: Moonfish in the DC version is just a regular fish Rank A) + Additional Moonfish hunt for Doc and Maria side quest. + Additional side story that add so much lore, yeah those Piastol, Doc and Maria side quest only available in this version. ![]() I dunno why SEGA do this in the first place, why they force the player to use the internet to get additional feature for the game? (The DLC file is so small!) Those feature already in the game disc, you just need the DLC to unlock these. Note: The DLC is just a content enabler, there's no file addon or such like nowadays DLC. ![]() You need the DLC to unlock some parts of the game, such as Giant Looper ship battle, Hamachou Island, Tuna Sword and Swirlerang. You'll be mad when going through the South Ocean for the first time, believe me. Yeah it has 500 ATK compared to 300 ATK on Legends, but you need the DLC to gain access to Hamachou Island though. Nothing special here though, just a mini game to get some items through your VMU game. You'll see Cupil interaction depending on situation (even when you AFK), Cupil will sleep, play, getting attention, etc. Well, I played the Dreamcast version several times, and I loved it because it is really simple to reach 100%.īut Gamecube version is better IMO, because a lot of things only available in the Legends version. ![]()
